I am writing this to express my deepest and most heartfelt sympathies on the passing of your beloved husband Patric Marks.

Please allow me to say that it was truly an honor for me to care for such a wonderful, affectionate, and gifted individual. Patric was a very strong and courageous man and held on to it to the very end. He had a very tough battle with a lethal illness that he fought with courage and determination. He could do this only because of the continuous support, both physical and emotional, that you gave him. Your dedication to his care was unparalleled. You interrupted all your family and personal routine to ensure that no stone remained unturned as far as getting Patric the best therapies available. I hope that it provided you with some solace to know that everything medically and humanly possible was done for him. In providing these to him, you had the relentless support of our nursing staff and many others who worked hard to get him better.

Patric and you have earned the love and respect of everyone involved in his care. You have every reason to be proud of this. I hope that the clinical and laboratory research that we and others are doing on Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia and other hematologic malignancies will ultimately lead to a cure in these diseases. Please remember to let me know if I can be of any assistance to you in the future.
