"Musings on the Maestro: My Guruji Patric Marks"

As a past student of Guruji for several years in Chicago, now years ago, I could fill many pages with anecdotes, events, and experiences, but I am aware that many other students are wanting to do the same. We know that of musicians who are talented and accomplished, there are many, but not all can teach. It takes a special gift to actually teach so that a student can learn the music. My sitar lessons were always on a Saturday before noon, following which I prepared an Indian dish in his adjoining kitchen while Guruji finished his lessons for the morning. Finally, it was lunch break, and with Margaret, the three of us had a very enjoyable lunch. Guruji's enigmatic smile would slowly spread all over his face.
